About the program
This program is to train students to possess such solid professional foundations as systematic knowledge of linguistics, foreign literature, foreign language teaching theory, the theory and practice of translation, etc. and to master the basic skills and research methods of Translation Studies so that the students are able to skillfully deal with the issues related to education, foreign affairs and other language-related work.
Students can make a choice from the three research fields, i.e. Corpus-based Translation Studies, Literary Translation Studies and Applied Translation Studies.
School of Foreign Languages has12professors and33associate professors. Among our faculty members, there are 35Ph.D., and35Master Candidate Supervisors. In the past five years, nearly 500 academic papers have been published, a considerable number of which have been published inApplied Linguistics, Journal of Pragmatics, Lingua, System, Language Sciences, Meta, Foreign Language Education & Research, Foreign Literature Review, Zhongguo Yuwen(Studies of the Chinese Language), Chinese Translators Journal, Foreign Literature Studies, Journal of Foreign Languages, Modern Foreign Languages, Contemporary Linguisticsand other top academic journals at home and abroad. In the meanwhile, our research is enhanced by more than 100 research projects at various levels. In addition, more than 20 academic books (or translated books) have been published.
